I have an almost five year old mini rex rabbit. I was wondering if someone could tell me how long they live. He has a whole room to himself. If you could narrow it down from 'they live 5- 10 years' that would be VERY helpful. Also how many rabbit years are in a people year? And what do rabbits usually die of?

they live for about the same as any other rabbit 8 years.i don't think there is a rabbit years but i don't know for sure and i guess the most common thing rabbits die of is old age. Or from being killed for meat. Hez

There are many ways to prolong your rabbit's life. Proper diet, proper care and good vet care can make all the difference in the world.
Disease, injury, heat stroke, heart attack and predators would be the most common causes of death. I don't know how many people I have talked to who have had their rabbits die because of them feeding them the wrong diet, not keeping their cages clean, using the wrong bedding and allow their rabbits to overheat.
As far as the age in which rabbits can live – it's hard to really say. I have seen rabbits live as long as 12 yrs old and some not even live past 5 yrs. It just depends.
