I was wondering if it is ok to keep lionhead rabbits outside. I live in colorado where we have mild winters and mild summers. temps can go up to about 90 and can go down to 12 degrees F. Sence these rabbits are so small i just want to make sure so they dont freeze to death.
I have the large breed lionheads (20-30 pounds ) and they do fine outside all year long and im in west virginia it gets down to zero here and up over 100 and humid, dont let them get too hot though you have to keep their pen in a nice shady area in summer, winters all they need is some hay to sleep in and eat (and of course their regular food) and make sure you keep fresh water to them as it freezes fast and gets hot fast in summer.

You have to be careful of dogs getting into your yard. It happened to me and it ripped open their metal cage and ate all my cute little rabbits. Besides that, it is okay to leave them outside. It is a good idea to go to a feed and seed type shop or a pet store and get a small heating lamp for the really cold days.
