how long do lionhead rabbits live????????(indoors)!?!?

Add comments

Being a small rabbit, lionheads have a lifespan of 7-10 years if properly cared for. Some small breeds can even live into their teens, so make sure you're prepared to care for a rabbit that long. =]

Same as any other rabbit. About 5-10 years or more because it is living indoors. Indoor rabbits live longer than outdoor rabbits.

Average age of rabbits is around 8 years. But can be more depending on how well their looked after and if their fed a good diet.

I have had rabbits for a while, and they have all been loved and cared for indoors. Yes, rabbits CAN live up to about 10 years, but from personal experience, they usually do not. It also depends on things like if they are spayed or neutered because females not spayed and who do not reproduce have a great chance of developing cancer and tumors. Also, just like people and other animals as they get older they start having more health problems such as trouble breathing and diabetes. It is sad, but true that sometimes the cost of treatment for these problems is greater than you can afford. So, just from experience, I have never had a rabbit live older than 7 years, but I have seen ONE rabbit that was 13 but handicapped, frail and in need of constant care.
