Does anyone know where i can get a lionhead rabbit in winnipeg?

I've been trying to find a lionhead rabbit for days. I looked on the internet, and found nothing. Does anyone know any breeders in winnipeg i can contact?

Please do not buy a rabbit from a petstore. First they will not be purebreed. They can also have health problems because these animals are raised in "mill" type settings.

Try and find a breeder in your area. I know you are in Canada but you can contact the ARBA and ask for advice on how to find a breeder in Winnipeg.

If you email me privately with the City and providence I may be able to help you as I have the ARBA yearbook, which
lists breeders. There are some listed in canada in the book.

Do lionhead rabbits have mood changes?

I have a 4 month year old female lionhead and she seems to be very unpredictable with her moods. One day she is lovely and likes sitting on our laps and being stroked, then the next she is lashing out at us! anyone else expereinced such behaviour? We swear she has PMT!!

Although Rabbits are fertile all year round & Ovulation takes place after mating, they do actually have a "Heat" cycle. This is every 4-6 days,at this time she will willing accept the Buck(Male). When she is not in "Heat" as such, she may not accept the buck, but if forced, she would conceive. That may explain why some days she may be moody! =)

If you really find it a problem, getting her spayed will solve it.

Hope this helps,xxx

I want to get a lionhead rabbit or a netherland dwarf rabbit.?

Im getting rabbits and im trying to find a lionhead rabbit or a netherland dwarf rabbit but i cant seem to find them anywhere in winnipeg. Does anyone know any breeders that are selling them? or any sites?

You can contact the ARBA and ask. There are some members that live in Canada and also belong to The American Rabbit Breeder's Assoc.

A word of advice about both of those breeds. They sometimes (alot of the time) have aggression behaviors that some people will find hard to deal with. They do not make good pets for children. When they reach sexual maturity they can bite, growl, jump on you and scratch you. The females especially get like this as they are very protective mothers. Even if you never breed them they will becoame aggressive, especially cage aggressive. If you plan on altering them you will need to do it before they reach 6 months to avoid this behavior.

Good luck finding your pets.
